Terms of Service

Last updated: August 31, 2026

These terms are the simple agreement between you and QuiltPlan for using the app. We've kept them short and readable. By using QuiltPlan, you're agreeing to what's below. If anything here isn't clear, email us — we're happy to explain.

QuiltPlan is currently in a limited testing release. Things may change, and features may occasionally break as we improve them. Thanks for helping us make it better.

What QuiltPlan is

QuiltPlan is a design tool for iPhone and iPad. It helps you turn a photo into a quilt pattern, design blocks and quilts, choose fabric colors, and estimate how much fabric you might need. It's a planning aid to help you sketch and imagine — it doesn't sell fabric or finished quilts.

Measurements and yardage are estimates — check before you cut

The yardage amounts, cutting sizes, and fabric colors QuiltPlan shows are helpful estimates, not exact instructions. Real fabric widths, shrinkage, seam allowances, and how you press and trim all affect the final numbers, and colors look different on a screen than they do in real cloth. Please double-check the math and confirm colors against real fabric before you cut. QuiltPlan isn't responsible for fabric bought or cut based on an estimate.

Your account

Your designs are yours

The quilts, blocks, colorways, and patterns you make are yours. We store them only to back them up to your account and sync them across your devices, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don't claim ownership of your work and we don't sell it.

Plans and subscriptions

QuiltPlan is free to use, and every feature works on every plan. A paid plan buys one thing: room for more projects at once. The free plan holds two. If you already had more than that before a limit applied to you, they all stay yours to keep and to open.

Paid plans are subscriptions. You can buy one monthly or yearly, and the price is shown in your own currency before you confirm. Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us, and the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. You are charged for the next period within 24 hours of it starting.

Cancel any time in your device's subscription settings: on iPhone and iPad through Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions; on Android through the Google Play Store app, then Payments and subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end the period you already paid for, and it never deletes your work. If your plan lapses, your projects all remain, and you keep being able to open, edit, and finish them.

Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under their policies, not by us. Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases and Google for Google Play purchases. If something has gone wrong, write to us anyway at [email protected] and we will help you sort it out.

If we ever change what a plan costs or includes, we will tell you before it affects you, and a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

Sharing with the community

QuiltPlan has a community page where you can choose to share a project, and a Design Wall for photos of finished quilts. Sharing is always your choice, and everything shared is reviewed by the QuiltPlan team before anyone else sees it. When you share a project, other quilters can see it and can keep and make their own copies of the design for their personal quilting. By sharing, you confirm the work is yours to share, and you give QuiltPlan permission to show it and other quilters permission to keep those copies. You can take a share down at any time; copies people already made remain theirs.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Nothing hateful, explicit, harassing, or taken from someone else belongs in the community. We review everything before it is published, we remove anything that breaks this rule, and we may end the accounts of people who abuse the community, without notice. Every shared quilt has a "Report this quilt" button; reports come straight to us and we act on them promptly. You can also hide any maker's quilts from your own view.

Fair use of the app

Please use QuiltPlan the way it's meant to be used. Don't:

Fabric colors and brand names

QuiltPlan references real fabric lines (such as Moda's Bella Solids) to help you plan. Those names and colors belong to their respective owners; QuiltPlan isn't affiliated with or endorsed by them. On-screen colors are approximations to guide your choices.

Some fabric links in the app open Fat Quarter Shop through an affiliate link. If you buy something after following one, QuiltPlan may earn a small commission — at no additional cost to you. Prices and availability are set by the retailer, not by QuiltPlan.

The app is provided "as is"

We work hard to make QuiltPlan useful and reliable, but we can't promise it will be perfect or always available — especially during testing. To the extent the law allows, QuiltPlan is provided "as is," without warranties, and we aren't liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from using (or being unable to use) the app. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't be waived under the law where you live.

Changes to the app or these terms

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update these terms as the app grows. When we make a meaningful change, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and — where it matters — ask you to agree again in the app. Continuing to use QuiltPlan after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Ending use

You can stop using QuiltPlan and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.
